Position Description:

Cosmic AES is looking for a Systems Integrator. The System Integrator will be responsible for customer interactions to include collection of requirements and priorities and providing customer feedback of feasibility based on technical, cost and schedule on the collected requirements. The successful candidate would have a mastery of planning, software and hardware implementation and integration, testing and documentation. The System Integrator will work with other company teammates to produce solutions for the enterprise or subsystems using internally created and/or commercial off-the-shelf products. In this role, you will serve as project lead; provide end-to-end project management support; provide a total system perspective including a technical and operational understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components; coordinate with other team members and ensure problem solution, appropriate risk reduction, and user satisfaction; and make recommendations, as needed, on test and evaluation strategies for application development and system installations.   The system integrator must be an active proponent, communicator and participant in the full software design life cycle (SDLC) leveraging Agile and DevOps methodologies.

Job Duties 

  • Establishing functional and technical specifications and standards.
  • Consulting with customers, visiting their work spaces or conducting surveys to determine present and future needs.
  • Managing and updating tasks using Customer's configuration management tool.
  • Tracking and monitoring team's action items.
  • Preparing and delivering status reports (verbal and written) regarding team's tasks and Sprint progress.
  • Recommending changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware and/or software requirements related to such changes.
  • Assisting with user training on applications and tools developed for the use by an operator team.
  • Gathering data pertaining to customer needs, and using the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
  • Providing direct support to team leads and program manager(s).
  • Scheduling and facilitating technical exchange meetings and various Sprint ceremonies.
  • Documenting, tracking, and resolving team's impediments.
  • Assisting with configuration management of team's documentation.
  • Assisting with Security Plan documentation updates.
  • Serving as Agile coach; coaching and developing resources' understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Being a champion for changes that will help customer accomplish their mission while demonstrating technical and business agility.
  • Implement Software Development and Operations & Support methodologies: Lean, Agile and DevOps
  • Develop additional REST endpoints in existing microservices as well as developing new microservices. Microservices will be implemented in Groovy/Java using the Grails web framework, Micronaut, Spring Boot, and other JVM-based technologies.
  • Application deployment and load-balancing.
  • Algorithm development

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI security clearance is required to start.
  • Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
  • 2+ years of software development experience with Java/Groovy
  • Background and/or education in software development and software engineering
  • Proficiency developing in Java or Groovy

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Systems Integrator within the DOD Engineering Community
  • Willingness to learn and implement Lean methodologies, Agile engineering principles and strive for DevOps
  • B.S. in Computer Science
  • Proficiency developing with Grails or similar convention-over-configuration stack
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Geospatial Information Systems experience
  • Image processing experience
  • Data visualization experience
  • Redis experience
